Some of the thousands of street kids in Nairobi. I took this photo with my point-and-shoot as discreetly and quickly as possible. I was alone and on the wrong side of Tom Mboya Street; I was scared, but I was hoping that if they tried to chase me down someone would step in and save the tourist. Note the can in the one kid's hand - it's full of glue (or some other inhalant), while another kid sitting against the wall's got his in a bottle. I saw many worse scenes; some kids walked around with their glue bottles permanently dangling from their mouths, like respirators - which in a sense they were.
