The speedboat on which we began our journey in to the Okavango delta. Briefly, it's a delta which, instead of fanning out in to an ocean like most deltas do, fans out instead in to the Kalahari desert. The Okavango river begins to split up in to smaller and smaller channels, which were our ultimate destination - the micro channels and thousands of islands they form until the whole thing spreads out and soaks in to the Kalahari Desert. But here we're just getting going, and the channels are still big. See my journal entry from October 22nd for more details.
