| These are the "wild" cheetahs - they are kept in a very large enclosure, several square miles or so of natural habitat. In this picture they are shadowing us in our pickup truck, because they know it's feeding time and that there's a nice hunk of mule meat waiting for each of them in the back of the truck. And they're not particularly patient. One actually jumped in to the back of the truck with us, but only to grab a piece of mule from the meat box and then get back out again as fast as possible. We're not food to them, not when they've been so conditioned to expect chunks of mule tossed to them. But I definitely wouldn't want to be out there with them. |
